Umm Al Quwain sea shore losing charm because of garbage.
Having heard so much about the beauty and serenity prevailing in the emirate of Umm Al Quwain, a few friends and I decided to go on a road trip to experience it ourselves.
Heading out in excitement to the beach, I was eager to match what I was going to see there with all the wonderful preconceived notions I had formed about the place. However, I was utterly disappointed when I arrived.
I thought the beach would be a beautiful place, right up till I parked. On stepping out, an awful smell caught my senses and on taking another few steps, it was an awful sight that shocked me. The beautiful area in the vicinity of the nearby resort had been transformed into a dumping ground for all kinds of garbage. This trash includes non-degradable materials, glass bottles, aluminium containers, plastic and so on.
It was disheartening to see that such a wonderful area is being ill-treated in this manner. The ignorance of people and furthermore, their laziness to walk to a garbage bin to dispose their waste is gradually wiping out the scenic beauty of the place.
It is high time the residents and the authorities acted on issues like this to ensure that the beauty of the emirate is preserved.
