Residents post ads and posters on walls and electric poles.
Sharjah
A few days ago, I was walking along Jamal Abdul Nasser Street in Sharjah, when I came across a wall that was covered in pieces of paper. When I looked closely, they were advertisements and posters about houses or bed spaces for rent and various different tuition classes.
These posters spoil the beauty of the surroundings and make the place look dirty. When some people try to remove these leaflets, people tend to stick many more pieces of paper on the same place. At some points on the wall so many pieces of paper overlap each other that it’s almost impossible to read their contents. What’s the point?
I have also come across municipality workers removing the advertisements, but the minute they are done and leave, certain people put up more posters on the walls and even the electric poles. It’s a nuisance, and I hope that the residents stop sticking these advertisements and the concerned authorities take strict action against the violators.
