Dilapidated bus stop in Abu Dhabi urgently needs renovation
A bus shelter situated along Electra Street in Abu Dhabi, next to the main underpass, is in very bad shape and needs urgent renovation.
Its roof has become damaged and the panels on the sides are completely covered with advertisements and notices.
During the rain earlier this year, I happened to run into this bus shelter, hoping to find refuge, but it was as good as staying outside.
Now, the rainy months have gone by and with the hot summer sun, there is absolutely no shade for the public from the scorching heat.
The fact that the bus stop is very poorly maintained gives the public the opportunity to paste various advertisements, notices and stickers on its walls. Many of the advertisements are for room rentals.
This behaviour must be stopped immediately and the authorities should fine those who spoil public property with such graffiti and advertisements.
Through Gulf News, I sincerely request the authorities to have a look at this bus stop which is used by many people and to urgently have it renovated.
Please also place necessary cautionary warnings to prohibit residents from pasting advertisements on public property.
