Snoring is ruining intimate relationships, says a study done in London

Last updated:

Snoring is forcing a fifth of London couples to sleep in separate bedrooms.

A poll reveals that snoring is ruining sex lives and making people tired, miserable and unreasonable.

Nearly half of those polled said it affected personal relationships, with 42 per cent saying their partner's snoring makes them irritable, 30 per cent claiming it is the cause of most arguments and 69 per cent complaining of poor sleep.

Denise Knowles of Relate said: “Sleeping apart is one way of dealing with this in the short term but seeking a long term solution so you can share the same bed is the best way to retain intimacy.''

The poll of 2,000 people, by Snoreeze snoring remedy firm, shows the sleep of 81 per cent of women and 64 per cent of men is affected. Of those, 10 per cent take an average nine hours off work a month as a result.
