Luxury fashion house Dolce & Gabbana will hold a fashion show titled Day & Night at the Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue on October 7, with founding designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in attendance.
The event will feature more than 120 international models and will showcase both men and womenswear on the runway, as well as featuring special Dubai looks.
This will be the first Dolce & Gabbana fashion show to be produced in the Middle East. Although there will be an invitation-only seating area near the catwalk, members of the public will be able to view the event from other spots in the mall.
“We love Dubai very much. We are extremely excited to come back. It is a dynamic city with thousands of attractions: you’re able find everything you want. It is a modern and cosmopolitan metropolis where you can shop for spices, fabrics, carpets, typical objects... everything we love,” said Stefano Gabbana.
In March, Dolce & Gabbana opened a boutique location in the Fashion Avenue expansion of Dubai Mall, which houses several high-end brands. The October 7 show will be a celebration of the store’s opening, and as such, the interior of the mall will be transformed using green, white and red lighting inspired by the brand’s birthplace, Italy.
“We have just opened a boutique in the Dubai Mall that reflects what we are, our identity. There’s a bit of everything, the black of the marbles, the gold, the precious damask fabrics we adore. This space is an interpretation of our soul, with the dream-like atmosphere and warm colours of the Middle East,” said Domenico Dolce.
The Day & Night collection ranges from intricately decorated evening gowns in pink peony, orange, yellow and blue chiffon, featuring ‘arabesque ornamental motifs’, according to a statement, to more masculine, contemporary and sporty tuxedos.
Dolce & Gabbana was founded in Milan in 1985 and has made a name for itself as a billion dollar brand over the past 33 years.
