If the frenzy that followed their appearance on Thursday night in Dubai Mall was anything to go by, the K-Pop mania is well and truly here to stay.

Ahead of their Friday concert at the Autism Rocks Arena on Friday, SM Town artists spoke about their music, their fans and their eagerness to return to the UAE for another gig in the near future, at a press conference.

Super Junior’s Leeteuk , who attempted to greet everyone in Arabic by saying ‘A’salam-Alaikum’ or ‘Peace be upon you’, spoke about the UAE at length, saying: “It was our dream to perform in the UAE. We really wanted to come to UAE the most.”

Addressing the media were Kangta, TVXQ’s U-Know, Jay from TraxX and Hyoyeon from Girls’ Generation. Also joining these SM Entertainment artists were SHINee’s Key, Luna from f(X), Exo’s Suho, Red Velvet’s Irene, and Jeno from NCT Dream.

Exo, which had fans come out in hundreds when they unveiled their song Power on the Dubai Fountain track list, saw Suho say that his group and the rest of them were eager to return to the UAE again for another gig in the near future.

SHINee’s Key was equally eager to return, saying: “This is my very first visit to Dubai and I really like what I have seen so far. I wouldn’t mind if there are more opportunities to return, either individually or as a group.”

U-Know from TVXQ also revealed that the group was looking to unveil some of their new tracks at Friday’s concert, along with several EDM collaborations.

While many of the SM Town artists have also branched out in different creative fields, be it acting, theatre or more, Leeteuk said he was looking for more opportunities to branch out his talent, saying: “I don’t want us to be limited to artist who come to Dubai just for a concert. We want more chances to show up here, be it for a television drama, a musical or even DJing. We want more experience. Who is there willing to give us a chance?”
