K-Pop groups Red Velvet and Stray Kids’s newly released mini-albums were featured in the top 10 of UAE iTunes Top Albums chart last week.

Formed by SM Entertainment, the all-female group Red Velvet powered up this summer with a new mini-album, Summer Magic, last week. It soon climbed the local iTunes album charts and took the No 1 spot, in addition to other 27 countries that includes Saudi Arabia, Turkey, India, Russia, Greece, Philippines and many more.

Red Velvet also slew the charts in their native country by achieving their first perfect all-kill with electro-pop, summertime single, Power Up, which soared to the top of Korea’s major online music charts.

Another group Stray Kids stood out in this year’s star-studded summer K-Pop scene with new music and left quite an impression on local fans. Fronted by the hip-hop track My Pace, the boy band’s second mini-album, I am Who, debuted on the iTunes Top Albums chart at No 7 and then jumped to the second spot two days later.

The nine members, under the wing of JYP Entertainment since March, continue to firm up their presence on the K-pop scene with their music and powerful performances and are likely to continue rising locally and globally.

As Red Velvet and Stray Kids have a loyal fan base here we may be seeing more of then soon. Both groups are currently promoting their new music.
