Taylor Swift is leaving behind a blank space on LA’s Westside. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter has sold her mini-estate in Beverly Hills for $4 million (Dh14.6 million) in a deal completed off-market and has put another home on the same street up for sale.

The estate that sold sits on two parcels totalling nearly 0.5 hectares and has a three-bedroom main house, a guesthouse and a tennis/sports court.

The country-vibe traditional home, built in 1941, has more than 260 square metres of living space that includes a main-floor master suite with two bathrooms, an office/den and a formal living room with a fireplace. The guesthouse consists of a living room with a fireplace, a kitchen and one en suite bedroom.

Sets of French doors open to the scenic grounds, which include a covered patio, vine-covered arbors and an outdoor fireplace. Stone paths wind through fields of lawn and mature landscaping.

A few doors down from the estate, a midcentury home linked to the star is on the market for $2.95 million, according to real estate sources with knowledge of the area.

The single-storey, 274.064-square-metre house has four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.

The 1,000-bottle wine cellar is climate-controlled. Pocket glass walls in the living and dining rooms open to a large patio, decking and a swimming pool — perhaps the reason Swift owned two homes on the block.

Swift, among the bestselling music artists of all time, has 10 Grammys to her name, including two for album of the year (Fearless and 1989).

Last year the 28-year-old released Reputation, which in March became her sixth album to sell 2 million copies in the United States.

JUDY GARLAND

A Malibu beach house where actress-singer Judy Garland of The Wizard of Oz once lived has sold in a deal completed off-market for $3.545 million.

The buyers are television and documentary writer-director-producer Cynthia Harrison-Wallach and her husband, real estate investment firm head Lewis Wallach.

Set on the sands in the Las Tunas Beach area, the Cape Cod-style house was built in 1947 and originally was owned by Garland’s second husband, stage and film director Vincente Minnelli.

Extensively renovated three years ago, the two-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom house makes the most of oceanfront living with ipe-wood decking and balconies extending from the master suite. A walled courtyard sits off the front.

Inside, the roughly 167 square metres of living space features white oak floors, built-ins and vaulted and beamed ceilings. A two-sided fireplace is shared by the living and dining rooms. In the kitchen, which has been updated, marble countertops are teamed with Viking stainless-steel appliances.

“It really is a special property,” said real estate agent Jory Burton of Sotheby’s International Realty, who along with Heather Shorr represented the buyers. “To find something on the sand, at this price, is pretty rare.”

Harrison-Wallach is a co-executive producer of the TV series Dogfights and a writer-producer for the documentary Rogue Waves. Wallach is president and chief executive of the property investment and management firm Professional Financial Investors.

KIM KARDASHIAN AND KANYE WEST

The minimalist mansion that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West sold last year is back on the market at $18 million.

Ukrainian billionaire and aspiring singer Marina Acton is the seller. She bought it from the ultra-famous couple last November for $17.8 million, records show.

Set on nearly an acre in the guard-gated community of Bel Air Crest, the property forsakes hyper-luxury flourishes for the austere. Walls of glass bring colour into the spare interior, which otherwise features a palette of white and gray.

There’s a fireplace in the two-storey living room. In the centre-island kitchen, stainless-steel appliances interrupt the monochromatic scheme.

Seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms, including a massive master suite with a freestanding tub, round out the 836-square-metre floor plan.

In the grassy backyard, a swimming pool, spa and pavilion take in panoramic canyon and mountain views.

West and Kardashian picked up the home five years ago for $9 million, records show. Before their renovations, it was a Mediterranean-style villa filled with wrought-iron rails, parquet floors and wood-beamed ceilings.

They currently reside in Hidden Hills, where they own a large French country-style compound.

ELLEN POMPEO

The Hollywood Hills home of Ellen Pompeo, who stars on Grey’s Anatomy, is pending sale but still “accepting backup offers,” according to the Multiple Listing Service.

The 1920s Spanish-style villa hit the market about a month ago for $2.795 million.

Set above the street on a nearly quarter-acre elevated lot, the house retains its 1923 character, with graceful arches, balconies, columns and a red-tile roof. Views take in the surrounding city and hillsides.

The restored and updated 228 square metres of living space includes an entry, a two-storey living room with a fireplace, a formal dining room, a walk-in pantry, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Pavers and wood floors run throughout. A veranda expands the living space out of doors.

A heated saltwater swimming pool fills one side of the property. A detached two-car garage sits at street level. Fruit and olive trees complete the grounds.

The 48-year-old Pompeo, who in January signed a $20 million contract with ABC, is known for her long-running role as Dr Meredith Grey on the medical drama. Among her film credits are Catch Me If You Can (2002), Old School (2003) and Life of the Party (2005).
