Imran Abbas, the man-boy actor from Pakistan who last grabbed headlines for his Bollywood cameo in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016), might still be friends with producer-director Karan Johar, it doesn’t seem likely that he will bag another project in India anytime soon. Although this is going to be the case with all other Bollywood aspirants on this side of the border, Abbas is smart enough not to sit around, mulling too much over opportunities lost. He has been on a long vacation in Europe for some time, but back home his acting career on the small screen is still going steady — Mohabbat Tum Se Nafrat Hai, his latest TV serial, is getting high TRPs. But Abbas wants more from life. Prompt him, and he’d give you a teaser: “Hollywood’s calling!”

Apparently, he’s already signed on a project in California, and it’s going to roll soon. “It’s no small-budget, indie film,” he adds. “It’s a major studio production. I’ll be going to LA for that.”
