Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor’s pre-wedding celebrations began at the her home in Mumbai on Sunday. The 32-year-old actor will marry Delhi-based businessman Anand Ahuja on Tuesday morning in a private ceremony at her aunt’s house in Bandra.
The actress and her close friends and family kick-started the celebrations with an intimate mehendi ceremony (a traditional pre-wedding event where henna is applied on the bride’s hands and feet) at their Juhu residence.
Sonam’s cousins Arjun Kapoor, Mohit Marwah, Khushi and Janhvi Kapoor, uncle Sanjay Kapoor and filmmaker Karan Johar, arrived at her residence earlier in the evening. The groom was also photographed outside her bungalow.
The mehendi party will take place on Monday evening in the Bandra-Kurla Complex, and is expected to be attended by the who’s who of Bollywood.
Security has been beefed up at the venue of the mehendi party.
Sonam’s house has become a meeting spot for all her celebrity friends such as Varun Dhawan, Swara Bhasker and Jacqueline Fernandez, with them rehearsing for tomorrow’s celebrations.
The wedding ceremony on May 8 will be followed by a reception in the evening at a five-star hotel in Andheri.
Sonam and Anand, who have been dating for over two years, announced their wedding last week in an official joint statement.
