Middle East comedians join global Netflix series

Four talents from the region will be part of an unprecedented stand-up event on the streaming service

Four Middle Eastern comedians have joined a global Netflix stand-up series set to launch in 2019.

Moayad Al Nefaie (Saudi Arabia), Adi Khalefa (Palestine), Rawsan Hallak (Jordan) and Ibraheem Al Khairallah (Saudi Arabia) will be part of an unprecedented comedy event on the streaming service, which brings together 47 comedians from across 13 regions.

Other comedians include Chris D’Elia, Nicole Byer and Nish Kumar.

Each of the talents will have a 30-minute stand-up special dedicated to them.

Sets are to be filmed in various locations around the world, including the upcoming Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, as well as Sao Paolo, Mexico City, Mumbai, Berlin and Amsterdam.

The series is yet to be titled. It will feature seven languages: Arabic, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, German and English.
