Bollywood actors Sonu Sood and Prabhudheva are convinced that comedy and horror are genres that are rarely mixed in one film. But their latest project Tutuk Tutuk Tutiya, out in the UAE this Thursday, will make an earnest attempt to roll both into one.

“That mixing of those two genres have not been explored much ... We are giving you a complete entertainer filled with a bit of horror and comedy. All you need to do is sit back and relax and watch us,” said Prabhudheva during a press junket in the UAE last week.

He plays a simple guy who is confused by his wife’s (Tamannaah Bhatia) erratic behaviour in this film directed by A L Rai.

The trailers seem to suggest that his simple sari-clad wife becomes possessed by a glamorous ghost and her dual personality wreaks havoc.

Sood, who is also one of the producers of this feature made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu with different supporting cast while retaining the same main players, plays an actor who falls in love unknowingly with Prabhudheva’s wife.

“I play Raj, an actor. I am a good, genuine guy but problems begin when he falls in love and there’s a comedy of errors. It’s both thrilling and funny. It’s the best way to unwind during your weekend,” said Sood.

So what was the most challenging part of his role?

“Dancing with Prabhu sir,” said Sood in a snap.

Prabhudheva is known for his intricate dancing skills and is often described as the Michael Jackson of south India.

“In my eyes, Sonu dancing is the most thrilling and entertaining part of this film. I give him ten on ten for his dance moves,” said Prabhudheva. But Sood mastered the moves after hours of intensive rehearsal before each song.

“It was wonderful to see Prabhu sir dancing. His moves are so smooth and fluid,” said Sood.

The two aren’t worried about colliding with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s love epic Mirzya either.

“As long as both are good films, there’s space for everybody,” said Sood.

Don’t miss it!
