The annual Yasalam Emerging Talent Competition (ETC) is back on the hunt for musicians, singers and more across the GCC to showcase their talent in the 2018 competition. Set up as a platform to grow music acts in the region, the ETC winner will receive training from industry insiders, live performance bookings and a chance to perform on the sidelines of the Formila 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix later this year.

Entry will be open until September 29.

Once entries are submitted, a panel will shortlist 10 acts who will then take part in a four-week training course where they will be taught how to improve their skills and build their brand. The acts will then perform at a live acoustic gig in the capital. Once the educational phase is over, the judges and mentors will select the top three finalists. The winning act will secure prizes including live performance opportunities throughout the 2018 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

“The Emerging Talent Competition was the stepping stone for me to break through the music industry in the region. It was a great learning experience and an incredible opportunity to meet tremendous talent and industry experts,” said Danny Aridi, the 2017 winner. “ETC covers everything from a personal identity to technical skills required to grow your music career. Since winning the third season of ETC, I’ve signed to Universal Music Mena and cannot wait to see what’s in store next.”

To enter, musicians and bands need to upload links to their music, images and demos through www.yasalam.ae before 11:59pm on September 29.
