‘Stranger Things’ Natalia Dyer comes to Dubai

Actress to attend Middle East Film & Comic Con, while Carice van Houten pulls out


Stranger Things fans in the UAE, get ready: Natalia Dyer, who plays Mike Wheeler’s big sister (and unofficial sleuth) Nancy Wheeler in the hit Netflix show, will be in Dubai next month for the Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC).

Dyer joins the likes of Karen Gillan and Karl Urban as a celebrity guest. Fans will have the chance to meet and greet the actors from April 5 to 7 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Carice van Houten, who was announced in January, will no longer be in attendance. Van Houten, who plays Melisandre on Game of Thrones, has cancelled several comic con appearances, including one in Wales, due to work commitments.

International cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao will also attend, as well as professional artists Yishan Li, Flaviano Armentaro and Marco Failla.

Voice actors Ray Chase, Robbie Daymond and Max Mittelman will join forces for an interactive comedy skit named L.A.V.A. at the convention.

Tickets start from Dh110 per day, or Dh250 for a three-day pass.
