Multiple Grammy-winning singer Sam Smith will make his UAE debut when he headlines the second night of the Yasalam After-Race Concert on the sidelines of the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at du Arena on November 24. The British singer-songwriter joins R’n’B crooner The Weeknd, who performs on November 23, and rockers Guns N’ Roses, who take the stage on November 25. A fourth artist is yet to be announced.

With numerous awards including four Grammys, three Billboard Music Awards, and three Brit Awards, the 26-year-old’s performance in Abu Dhabi will feature tracks from his critically acclaimed Grammy Award-winning debut album In The Lonely Hour as well as his most recent release, 2017’s The Thrill Of It All.

In 2015 Smith won a Grammy Award for Best New Artist as well as Song of the Year for Stay with Me, as well as Record of the Year.

Known for his powerful and emotive vocal performances, Smith counts Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Brandy and Adele among his many musical influences, and is recognised as one of his generation’s greatest voices.

Access to the after-race concerts is limited to Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race ticket holders. But ticket holders can buy a three-day ticket providing access to all four concerts.

“An artist such as Sam further reinforces our four-day proposition of on-track, off-track and after-race entertainment and we are thrilled he will be performing at the Saturday Artist,” said Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit. “2018 marks a very significant year for us as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and with three great acts now revealed, we are looking forward to announcing the final artist who will take to the stage as part of an incredible weekend of racing and live music and entertainment for all ticket holders.”

General admission tickets start at Dh995 for a three-day pass.
