The eight FrancOfilm Festival will hold the UAE premiere of Zachary Richard Toujours Batailleur in Dubai on Thursday.
The film will screen at 6.30pm at Marina Mall with English subtitles. It will be followed by a moderated open discussion with the film’s director, Phil Corneau.
The 2016 documentary follows the journey of world-renowned Cajun singer Zachary Richard and his quest to understand the history and resilience of the Acadian and Cajun peoples. Earlier this month, it was exhibited at the United Nations in Geneva.
The event is the result of a joint initiative between the Embassy of Canada in Abu Dhabi, the Consulate General of Canada in Dubai, the Embassy of France, the Dubai International Film Festival, the Institut français in the UAE and Vox Cinemas.
Entry to the event will be Dh26 per person.
