Last night, Dubai Fashion Week (DFW) Spring/Summer 2025 opened in style, setting the tone for a week of creativity and high fashion. As the region’s definitive fashion fixture, DFW showcased an impressive lineup of designers who gave the audience a vision of artistry and innovation.
The event kicked off with Rizman Ruzaini’s runway show, followed by Erick Bendana’s vibrant tribute to Nicaraguan culture and Angelo Estera’s much-anticipated debut. Adding to the excitement, the Italian Trade Agency’s La Moda Italiana: Dubai Edition exhibition also opened, offering a unique glimpse into Italian fashion excellence. Co-founded by Dubai Design District (d3), part of TECOM Group PJSC, and the Arab Fashion Council, DFW continues to solidify its reputation as a global fashion hub. With the week-long event running until 7th September, fashion enthusiasts can expect an array of stunning collections, innovative designs, and cultural fusion that will redefine the fashion landscape in the region.
Rizman Ruzaini
Kicking off the runway shows, Rizman Ruzaini showcased their 'Mustika' collection, inspired by the Malaysian film 'Perempuan Melayu Terakhir'. The collection breathed new life into the classic kebaya and batik, blending traditional designs with modern aesthetics to celebrate Malaysian cultural heritage with a contemporary twist.
Amjad Khalil
Amjad Khalil presented the ‘Beyond Black’ Haute Couture Collection, exploring themes of transformation and personal growth. The collection featured dramatic gowns that transitioned from dark, moody shades to lighter, more ethereal tones, symbolizing a journey from darkness into light.
Erick Bendana
Erick Bendana brought a splash of Nicaraguan culture to the Dubai runway with his ‘505’ collection. Inspired by Nicaragua’s rich cultural identity, the collection combined traditional prints and symbols with urban, street-style elements. The show concluded with a stunning display of evening and bridal gowns, merging cultural vibrancy with high fashion.
Angelo Estera
Marking his debut at Dubai Fashion Week, Angelo Estera unveiled a collection that skillfully blended influences from the Oriental Far East and Arabian Sahara. His designs featured luxurious fabrics and intricate detailing, creating a unique fusion that paid homage to both regions' cultural elegance.
La Moda Italiana
The La Moda Italiana: Dubai Edition exhibition, in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency, opened its doors to the public, showcasing 25 renowned Italian fashion brands. As the first exhibition of its kind in the UAE, it offered a curated look at Italy's finest fashion, highlighting craftsmanship and style that is synonymous with Italian fashion excellence.
