Despite his untimely demise, Virgil Abloh’s legacy lives on with Louis Vuitton announcing a series of events to mark the release of the Louis Vuitton and Nike Air Force 1 designed by the designer. This June nine editions of the sneaker, which were first showcased as part of the Spring-Summer 2022 Men’s Collection, will be launched globally.

Beginning May 20 and until 31, the 47 editions of the Air Force 1 that were conceived by Virgil Abloh will also be on display in New York City. Complementing the event will be several art installations around the city.

Launching for retail this June, the Louis Vuitton and Nike Air Force 1 by Virgil Abloh, has been available for pre-orders to the Maison’s community. The sneakers have been manufactured in the Maison’s Manufacture in Fiesso d’Artico, Venice, Italy, and each design “fuses the sneaker’s original codes with the Maison’s finest leather, materials and insignia of Louis Vuitton, and the distinctive visual grammar of Virgil Abloh.”

All of the nine editions chosen for Louis Vuitton in-store release will be available in Nike sizes ranging from 3.5 to 18. These include the classic all-white and black suede sneaker embossed with the Louis Vuitton Monogram. Then, there is a two-tone edition in white with either green, red or blue detailing. A metallic gold sneaker, meanwhile, is also available and pays homage to Virgil’s debut collection. Finally, there is a Damier edition that bears the “Louis Vuitton” graffiti motif created by the artist Ghusto Leone.
