With performances by Iggy Pop and The Strokes and scores of Hollywood A-listers in attendance, the Celine Winter ’23 show was a night to remember
You couldn’t exactly call Celine’s night in Los Angeles a fashion show, as the evening stretched out into much more than that with a Hollywood A-lister party and musical performances from The Strokes and Iggy Pop. Just some of the scores of celebrities in attendance at ‘Celine at the Wiltern’ were Cindy Crawford and her daughter Kaia Gerber, Brie Larson, Paris Hilton, Wiz Khalifa, Emma Roberts, Courtney Cox, and loads more.
For its Winter ’23 show, ‘Celine at the Wiltern: Age of Indieness’, the Parisian Maison set the theme right from the get go with the location chosen for the occasion. The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles is an iconic art-deco landmark of the city, built in 1931 as a movie palace with its recognisable green terracotta facade and famous neon lights. The Wiltern has always been synonymous with Rock ’n' Roll history and some of the most legendary performances held at the venue were Prince in 1986, James Brown in 1991, Neil Young in 1999, Nick Cave in 2002, The Rolling Stones in 2002, and Amy Winehouse in 2007.
Hard acts to follow, and Celine put on a night to remember in 2022 with an indie rock rock theme for the fashion show and an aesthetic that harks back to the 1990s and 2000s. Quintessential rock stalemates were all on show, such as skin-tight jeans and leather pants all in dark tones.
