So it turns out the whole electric car thing isn’t just talk - last year sales around the world doubled to 6.6 million electric cars as consumer culture transcends towards sustainability by way of technology.

Every car manufacturer from the bottom to the top is hedging its bets on electric propulsion - even a heritage brand such as Rolls-Royce is rolling out its first ever zero-emissions model next year, the aptly named Spectre. Bentley has already presented a concept previewing an upcoming electric Grand Touring ultra-luxury car, and others like BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Porsche are already whirring about silently.

Now if you have an electric Porsche you have a new accessory to ponder, as Tag Heuer and Porsche teamed up to launch the latest connected wristwatch that communicates with your car. The new TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 is a luxury timepiece inspired by the Taycan electric four-door performance car from Porsche, with exclusive features so owners can communicate with their vehicle.

Following on from the launch of the TAG Heuer x Porsche Carrera Chronograph, the new Connected watch sports a dial designed to mimic circuit boards and racing circuits, conveying technology with speed.

The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 comes in a large 45mm case made of black titanium, with highlights such as a distinctive blue hue also found on the car and a black ceramic polished bezel. Owners can connect the watch to their car to track various aspects of the vehicle such as the electric battery and range information, as well as the air conditioning system. The watch runs a custom version of Goggle’s Wear OS software to additionally offer sports and wellness apps, plus some exclusive racing timers.
