As one of the “Big Four” events of the year alongside shows in Milan, Paris and New York, London Fashion Week plays host to the world’s top designers, retailers, as well as shoppers generating orders of over £100 million every year.

This June the event ran from the 11th to the 13th to a packed schedule of physical and digital content from more than 30 designers and labels, with emerging creative talent being the main theme.

One of the highlights to single out was Ahluwalia, a young award-winning label founded by British designer with Indian-Nigerian roots Priya Ahluwalia in 2018, taking inspiration from vintage and second-hand clothes to express a more environmentally-conscious world of fashion.

Across the runways and the digital platforms at London Fashion Week, colour and texture were shamelessly flaunted, none more so than Alicia Robinson’s creations for the three-year old label AGR. Her neon colour palette screamed summer vibes.

At Lueder’s installation, the collection takes you back to the 1990s with nylon and denim paired to a relaxed, baggy look.

Spanish designer Carlota Barrera went with a lively display of colour for her summer collection, inspired by the vivid and vibrant island of Cuba.

The UAE was represented in the Qasimi display, designer Hoor Al-Qasimi having adorned her creations with pearls and gems to reference the local pearl-diving heritage, and desert and sea tones elevated to rich indigos and golds.
