Arab Fashion Week has come to a close in Dubai with a weekend calendar full of local talent - here are all the top highlights of Days 5 and 6…

The weekend brought the curtains down on Arab Fashion Week in Dubai with a full schedule of shows highlighting sustainability, eco-consciousness, and inclusion.

Lebanese designer Sabrina Mouhiedin kicked off the proceedings with her 2023 spring-summer collection for UAE brand Lili Blanc showing on Friday. The self-made Mouhiedin left the corporate world just two years ago to head into the world of fashion, and returns to Arab Fashion Week with a new ready-to-wear collection entitled ‘Reflection’ featuring blazers, trenches, vests and top hats.

A notable show on the evening was also put on by Yassmin Saleh, with pieces made of repurposed fabrics and environmental friendliness at the forefront of this label founded by the sister duo.

Then it was off to a dingy parking lot for streetwear from The Giving Movement who premiered its Fiftymade athletic collection that gives off a strong varsity sports vibe. The UAE brand BHYPE also made a show of its sportswear line just in time for the Football World Cup fever in Qatar.

On the final day of Arab Fashion Week, Lebanon’s Emergency Room was another fashion house championing diversity as well as sustainability, which the label is best known for, showing looks featuring repurposed denim, cotton and knitted wear in a vibrant display of colour that also celebrated the upcoming World Cup.

Prominent UAE brand Louzan, too, presented its show on the final day with a more traditional collection of silk pieces inspired by the simple abaya in earthy tones Middle Eastern landscapes and skies.

It was a totally different picture at the Slimi Studio show where the UAE-based label presented a collection of brightly-coloured spandex pieces in stunning hues, completing the club look with laser-cut skin-hugging bodysuits, miniskirts, leotards, and puffer jackets.

Dubai-based sustainable athleisure brand The Giving Movement closed off Day 6 at Arab Fashion Week, with a monochrome show of black, white and grey sports wear and street wear made with ethical and sustainable methods.
