The chefs have put together a great iftar menu, which includes all the traditional favourites and a few surprises. A lavish buffet will be served with everything from aromatic soups to begin with, as well as su boreg, that delicate pastry dish with creamy cheese filling, kuru patlican dolma, then on to main courses such as hunkar begendi, slow cooked lamb leg, beef ribs, succulent and finger-lickingly irresistible, chicken kulbasti, served with ratatouille and rocket leaves. End the night with iftar sweets like gullac, a popular Ramadan dessert , or imrik helva to complete the meal. Sheesha lovers can chill, taking in the views of the fountains and Burj Khalifa.

Demoiselle by Galvin has created a rich and wholesome set-menu for Ramadan. Highlights from the cold mezze appetizers include a refreshing natural yogurt with extra virgin olive oil, Zaatar, and cucumber. This is followed by a selection of shrimp and tahini cocktail. The hot mezze section includes a trendy favourite that is reimagined in the demoiselle way; baked halloumi and Provençale salsa. From the middle course include a lentil and carrot soup, sour cream with toasted cumin. The main course includes a mixed platter with Indian spiced chicken stew, fragrant basmati rice, or a pave of salmon with a side of Provençale garden vegetables and romesco sauce. Dessert can take on traditional flavours of either a rice pudding, date chocolate fondant or stuffed date and baklawa.

Society Cafe and Lounge, located in Jumeirah 1, has decided to offer traditional Middle Eastern treats with a twist in a peacock inspired ambiance by Albal Designs, an homage to the Indian city of Jaipur and is a modern take to traditional Ramadan Tents. They are offering dishes such as a revamped and innovative versions of classics like harissa soup, duck & date fatayer, French quail schnitzel, kousa, chicken b’stilla, and traditional lamb ouzi. Sweets like baklava, kunafa, and umm Ali in croissant brioche will be joined by the café’s new signatures such as the Samoa cake (chocolate sponge cake with buttercream frosting coated with toasted coconut and chocolate & caramel drizzle), date and mandarin Bundt cake, and lemon and apricot Madeline.

Nikki Privé and the Celebrations ballroom is hosting a daily Iftar with modern adaptations of classic dishes including looz shorba, raheb, kibbeh, moutabel and more.
