Quite simply this Arabic-feel restaurant offers pockets of perfectly-prepared food from around the Middle East.

The chefs are inventive enough to make each year different, while still managing to maintain all the traditional classic dishes and flavours.

Ouzi, chicken, kofta — meat is sizzling hot yet far from overdone. Somehow Cafe Arabesque have a way of making you feel as if each plate of buffet-selected food was prepared only for you and fresh from the kitchen.

New this year is fateh sajeh — a traditional live cooking station with Syrian roots. Meats are pan fried with chick peas and other vegetables to create a stir fry-like dish of your fancy.

Each dessert provides a dilemma. If in doubt go for a small portion of each. The umm ali is probably the best I’ve ever tasted.

If Arabic flavour, traditional ambience and a water-front view is what you’re after, there is no better option in my book.
