Womad Abu Dhabi 2010
What
Gear up for the three-day open-air world music festival taking place on the Abu Dhabi Corniche and at Al Jahili Fort in Al Ain. During the free festival, guests will see star performers from various countries who will present different genres and styles. Highlights of the festival are Dubai-based band Abri and Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marley, son of Reggae legend Bob Marley, who will bring Womad to a thrilling close. Womad Abu Dhabi is also offering music, dance and art workshops. The Desert Cultures tent in Al Jahili Fort in Al Ain will showcase the heritage of the emirate with traditional hospitality and cultural activities.

Toploader And Tahnee  at Alpha

What The top rock band Toploader, whose hit Dancing in the Moonlight topped the global charts, returns to the stage after five years with lots of surprises. The British band toured with the likes of Paul Weller and Robbie Williams and were the last ones to perform with Bon Jovi at Wembley Stadium. Australian surfer girl Tahnee will also be performing.

What This year’s International Oriental Dance Festival aims to promote the exotic dance form of Raks Sharki with workshops by acclaimed teachers from the US, Russia and Egypt. The highlight of the show is a belly dance competition.

A concert has been organised in Dubai to mark the 30th death anniversary of Bollywood playback singer Mohd. Rafi.
