K-Pop girl group Momoland will be coming to Dubai at the beginning of January for a concert titled Momoland Live In Concert, Gulf News tabloid! can reveal.
On Sunday, Dubai-based event management company DJMC Events teased fans with a picture of the group on their official Facebook page.
It will be the South Korean nine-member act’s first concert in Dubai and in the Middle East, and the performance will reportedly last around 70-90 minutes with an opening act.
The all-female act initially debuted with seven members — Nancy, Hyebin, Jane, Nayun, Yeonwoo, JooE and Ahin — through 2016 reality TV show, Finding Momoland. In November 2016 they released their mini-album, Welcome To Momoland. Members Daisy (Finding Momoland’s eliminated contestant) and Taeha (Produce 101 contestant and former Starship trainee) joined the group in early 2017.
It wasn’t until their electro-pop viral sensation hit, Bboom Bboom, that pushed them towards K-Pop stardom and made them one of the successful girl groups of the first half of 2018. The song earned them their first Platinum certification by Gaon Music Chart in Korea after surpassing more than 100 million streams.
They made their official Japanese debut on June 13 and released fourth Korean EP, Fun To The World, on June 26.
Momoland has also built a dedicated fanbase, referred to as Merry-Go-Round
More details on the venue and date will be revealed soon.
