Theme park rides inspired by The Hunger Games film franchise will soon open to the public at Motiongate Dubai.

Inside a zone called Lionsgate, visitors can ride in replicated hovercrafts and travel through the franchise’s dystopian city, The Capitol, as well as the post-apocalyptic nation, Panem.

The Panem Aerial Tour will take guests on a journey above iconic landmarks from the series.

Visitors can also ride a rollercoaster from District 12 to the Capitol called the Capitol Bullet Train.

Meanwhile, Riverland Dubai, a themed dining, retail and entertainment district part of the Dubai Parks and Resorts (home to Motiongate and several other amusement parks) will hold free events in the winter, from Circus on the River in November and Pets on the River in December. Live outdoor entertainment and open-air dining will also make a comeback.

UAE residents may avail winter season rates starting September 1: Dh165 for a day ticket into Motiongate Dubai, Legoland Dubai and Legoland Water Park; Dh95 for a day ticket into Bollywood Parks Dubai.

Non-resident ticket prices range from Dh235 per park to Dh285 for two parks.

Kids below the age of three enter free.
