How many times have you watched Grease and wished it would come to life? In March, your dreams may come true.

Yas Island’s Gateway Park South will host a free outdoor cinema, from March 15-17 and March 22-24. But here’s the twist: it will be an interactive experience, with live performances included.

On Fridays, the theme is Back to the ‘80s as Grease lights up the city — both on screen and off it. West End dancers will bring a live element to the screening as they perform songs alongside the film, such as Summer Nights, Grease Lightnin’ and You’re the One That I Want. There will also be Beauty School drop-in makeovers and T Bird Barbers for men, to achieve that signature Travolta quiff.

For Bollywood lovers, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge will screen on March 17, and Bollywood star Arbaaz Khan will make a special appearance on stage.

There will be fun for the whole family on Thursdays with Disney classics and Hollywood blockbusters, as part of a drive-thru style screening.

Finally, the Yas Movies in the Park festivities will conclude on March 24 with a Viewer’s Choice Night, relying on an audience vote.

Further movie titles and a final schedule have yet to be announced. To attend, visitors can register for a free pass on yasmovies.ae.
