Moroccan funnyman Gad Elmaleh is returning to Dubai for a stand-up gig later this year.

The multilingual comic, known for performing primarily in French, will take over Dubai Opera for an English-language show on December 11, as part of The Dream Tour.

Most recently, Elmaleh made waves with his Netflix special American Dream, where he tackled the culture shock he came up against when he relocated from France to the United States. He is expected to perform content from the special, as well as new material around culture shock.

Gad, who can be spotted in films such as Midnight in Paris and The Adventures of Tintin, is currently writing his next Netflix special, Huge in France.

“Performing in English allows me to take my story and my comedy on a worldwide journey, which has been my dream since I was a kid,” he said in a statement.

In 2014, Elmaleh added a second Dubai World Trade Centre date to his tour after the first sold out within a day.

The comedian also made history as the first stand-up comedian to sell-out seven consecutive weeks at the Olympia music hall in Paris.

Tickets for his upcoming Dubai show will go on sale at noon on July 18. Prices range from Dh295-Dh995.
