The Power of Pink

Pink is the colour to wear this autumn. From bold magenta tones to a softer tone of plush rose, all the shades of this hue were seen on the autumn/winter 2022 catwalks. Valentino has even patented its own shade of pink; the PP Pink, a bright shade of fuchsia which was the basis of the Italian brand’s entire collection. And there was plenty of pink at other catwalk shows – from Dolce & Gabbana to Chanel to Marc Jacobs – designers from all around the world were embracing the playful colour. This season the popular pink shade has trickled down to the high street, from statement pieces to accessories and everything in between. Shop the Barbie-inspired look now!

Back to school

The preppy trend is taking us back to the nineties this season with looks inspired by retro school uniforms. Think Alicia Silverstone in Clueless or Britney Spears in her iconic Baby One More Time video and you’ll have this look perfected. Choose pleated skirts, tartan blazers and colourful jackets paired with knee-high socks Mary-Jane shoes and Peter Pan collar blouses. The more colour the better as we saw on the catwalks from Burberry to Miu Miu and Off-White. Hues such as green, blue, yellow and pink will add a touch of vibrancy to your autumn wardrobe.

Floor Length

Modesty and comfort have been taking the lead in recent years when it comes to fashion, and this autumn too long, elegant designs are preferred over short styles. From casual styles at Louis Vuitton to elegant dresses at Burberry and Saint Laurent, hemlines have become much longer and it’s something to get excited about! Pair a long skirt with a hooded jacket and trainers for a casual look, glam up a casual dress with smart pumps for work, or, for a more glamorous approach, pair a floor-length dress with a pair of heels for an elegant evening ensemble.
