Jumeirah Beach Residence announced today it will be hosting the Origami Festival held from the 15th -16th of April 2016, in partnership with the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority. The event hopes to break the current world largest paper origami record, with Guinness World Record officials judging and authenticating the new achievement on the last day of the event at JBR.

The Origami festival is organised as part of the third edition of Dubai Art Season, and focuses on leveraging the activation of arts at public spaces, outdoor art projects, interactive initiatives, workshops, exhibitions, panel discussions, and performances, among others.

Residents and visitors of Dubai are encouraged to visit JBR, and partake in folding blue and white origami flowers, and contribute to the creation of the world’s new largest origami, designed to take the shape of a mashrabiya art. Mashrabiya is the Arabic term given to a type of projecting oriel window enclosed with carved wood latticework, is an element of traditional Arabic architecture used since the middle ages up to the mid-20th century.
