“Goodness is the investment that can never fail,” says Didi Krishna at IFG 2025 closing session

On February 23rd, Indian Diaspora leaders gathered in Abu Dhabi at the Indiaspora Forum for Good (IFG).  The closing session, which featured Didi Krishna (Head of the Sadhu Vaswani Mission), inspired an audience filled with CEOs, political and government officials, philanthropists, and new young voices. The forum, which occurred over the course of three days, was packed with plenary sessions where different Indian Diaspora leaders came together throughout the day to discuss various topics revolving around how to solve humanity’s largest and most pertinent issues.

IFG concluded with a closing plenary session on February 25th that was entitled “The Sky is the Limit,” which was focused on identifying the ways that we can all work together to start enacting change in the present moment. Each speaker presented their own take on their interpretation of the session’s theme, tying this into their personal work and research.

One speaker’s words particularly resonated with the attendees of the final session. Didi Krishna spoke on understanding and implementing tactics that revolved around the overarching theme of the forum -- goodness.

She stated that “We all experience goodness, but when thoughts of I, me, and myself overpower me, then our true nature gets clouded. Today we live in a world of globalization, where we can connect easily and freely with one another… but instead of using globalisation as a tool to bring us together, we are using it as a tool to divide.”

Carrying forward this notion, Didi utilized the metaphor of an invisible thread, explaining how we are all linked to one another, not separate from each other but rather all connected by the same energy that flows through this thread. In order to obtain the goodness that we all desire, she offered six practical tips on how we can take charge of our lives:

  1. Learn to grow in self awareness: every thought that we think is a seed that we are sowing in the field of our life

  2. Grow in the spirit of gratitude and express it: we are so worried about the things we lack and desire that we miss out on the abundance of life

  3. See the good in all:  we are drawn to the faults in others, and we overlook the good in us and in others

  4. Grow in forgiveness: when we hold on to hurt and grudges it clogs our emotional arteries, which forgiveness allows us to clear

  5. Open your heart to love: an unselfish, sacrificing, forgiving and giving love, that expresses itself in compassion

  6. Nourish your soul: today we feel we are getting busier than ever because we do not take the time to pause and nourish the soul

Didi Krishna ended with a short guided meditation and visualization in order for the audience to reconnect with the goodness that is in each and every one of them. There was a serene stillness during the meditation that came as a breath of fresh air, bringing together all delegates in this very moment as each and every person sat in reflection.

Through her practical and thoughtful suggestions, Didi Krishna’s speech expressed the sentiment that the sky is the limit, yet we must become aware of where we choose to put our energy in order to reach these heights.
