In severe cases, the only solution may be an abdominoplasty, better known as a tummy tuck
My body has never recovered from having my two children. I had a bit of a pot belly before, but now, more than five years since having my second child, I’m still asked if I’m pregnant. I had C-sections in both pregnancies. I’ve tried all diets but while I lose weight from all other parts of my body, my stomach remains the same. What do you suggest?
Post pregnancy, some women find their abdominal wall muscles get weaker, and it is important to do exercises to strengthen them. When these muscles are weak, there is nothing to support the visceral fat, which protrudes through, giving the appearance of pregnancy. In severe cases, the only solution may be an abdominoplasty, better known as a tummy tuck. It involves the removal of excess skin, and in most cases includes tightening the abdominal muscles.
In addition, fat can be removed with Vaser liposuction using ultrasound energy. The area of the body requiring treatment is exposed to a unique frequency that targets mainly fat cells, leaving surrounding tissue unharmed. So with this method there is less pain, bruising and bleeding compared to traditional liposuction and there is a quicker recovery time.
