2 cups rice
6 cups water
Juice of 4 lemons
A pinch of turmeric
5 small red chillies
1 tbsp roasted chana dal (split chickpeas)
½ tsp urad dal (split black gram)
½ tsp mustard seeds
Curry leaves and a pinch of asafoetida
1 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
1. Boil water with salt, add rice and cook till done. Drain and keep aside.
2. Heat oil; add chillies, chana dal, urad dal, mustard seeds, curry leaves and asafoetida and fry for half a minute. Add lemon juice.
3. Bring to the boil and add rice. Mix thoroughly and turn off heat.
