Dubai: The Spain Pavilion is hosting a two-day concert by talented Spanish guitarist Miguel Trápaga on November 4 and 5, from 6 to 8 pm. Trápaga will play songs of the Spanish classical repertoire under the title ‘The Spanish Guitar’, specially chosen to celebrate Expo 2020 Dubai.

Visitors at the pavilion will have the opportunity to enjoy the melodies of some of the most internationally acclaimed Spanish composers, such as Manuel de Falla, Joaquín Turina and Joaquín Rodrigo.

“Outside of Spain, our music tends to be identified with the typical Andalusian style, and for that reason, this recital has works that try to broaden that vision. In order to achieve that, I have chosen a wide variety of songs that range from the original music of Manuel de Falla, Joaquín Turina or the recovery of music of the Ángel Barrios, so closely linked to flamenco; to the melodies of Moreno Torroba (clearly Castilian inspiration), Dionisio Aguado from Madrid, Joaquín Rodrigo, Valencia or the Cantabrian composer Arturo Dúo Vital,” said Trápaga.

Trápaga will also perform on November 6 at Sharjah International Book Fair where Spain is one of the guest countries invited.
