Will Smith will attend a Dubai screening of his supervillain film, Suicide Squad, on August 7.

The actor, who plays the character Deadshot in the DC film, will be at a screening in City Centre Deira to launch the venue’s Vox Max Cinema, which features the largest screen in the Mena region at 408 square metres.

Vox Cinemas will give fans a chance to win a meet-and-greet with Smith or attend the red carpet screening of his event. Customers who buy an advanced ticket online to see the film at Vox Cinemas in the UAE, or in Lebanon, will be entered into the competition to meet Smith, while fans in the UAE and Oman who buy a large Pepsi combo at the theatre will be entered into a draw to attend the red carpet screening.

Both competitions will close on Aug 4.

According to organisers Maven Marketing & Events, the screening is one of several events Smith will be participating in in the city.

“It is an honour to be working with such a prolific icon as Will Smith, and VOX Cinemas, the region’s leader cinema, in our effort to make Dubai a regular stop on major blockbuster movie promotional world tours,” said Sarah Omolewu, managing partner of Maven Marketing & Events, in a press release.
