Epic adventure awaits: GlobeTrotter teaser ignites fan frenzy
The much-hyped collaboration between SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu finally has a name, or at least a name for now. Both filmmaker and star took to social media on Saturday, unveiling a grim first glimpse of the project with the hashtag #GlobeTrotter.
Whether GlobeTrotter is the film’s official title or simply a promotional tag is still under wraps. But one thing is certain: The duo have locked in November 2025 for a grand first reveal.
On his birthday morning, Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli posted identical Instagram shots: a close-up of Babu's chest in a low-cut vest, streaked with blood. Hanging around his neck is a pendant.
“Thank you for all the love…(red heart emojis). I am eagerly waiting, as you all are, for November 2025 to enjoy the reveal with all of you. #GlobeTrotter,” Babu captioned the post. Rajamouli echoed the sentiment, also sharing the hashtag.
Addressing audiences on X (formerly Twitter), Rajamouli wrote:
“Dear Cinema Lovers in India and around the world, as well as fans of Mahesh, It has been a while since we began shooting, and we appreciate your eagerness to know about the film. However, the story and scope of this film are so vast that I feel mere pictures or press conferences cannot do it justice. We are currently working on something to showcase the essence, depth, and immersive world we are creating. This will be unveiled in November 2025, and we are trying to make it a never-before-seen reveal. Thank you all for your patience."
Beyond the hashtag and cryptic imagery, Rajamouli offered no further details. Rumoured co-star Priyanka Chopra kept mum on social media, while Prithviraj Sukumaran—who has confirmed his role—didn’t share the post either.
Fans, however, needed no coaxing. The minimal tease set off a frenzy online, and fans are sure that the film will beat even Rajamouli's previous film, RRR's records. RRR had crossed over Rs 1300 crore, and also gained significant global attention on streaming platforms, notably Netflix, where it became India's most-watched film, amassing over 47 million viewing hours worldwide . The film's international success was further bolstered by its Oscar-winning song Naatu Naatu.
Early reports suggest the film will be a globe-spanning jungle adventure, which ties neatly into the GlobeTrotter moniker. No release date has been announced yet—but judging by the excitement, the countdown to November 2025 has already begun.
