The first trailer for the much anticipated Netflix series has dropped
Get ready, Nevermore fans — Wednesday Addams is back, and she’s bringing all the murder, mayhem, and morbid charm you’ve been missing.
Netflix has announced that Season 2 of Wednesday will premiere in two parts this fall.
Part 1 arrives on August 6,
Part 2 follows on September 3.
It’s a fresh twist from Season 1’s binge-all-at-once drop — and judging by the newly released teaser, this season is going full throttle.
In the first look, Jenna Ortega’s iconic Wednesday is seen going through TSA — and naturally, she sets off red flags, but not for the usual reasons. A small arsenal of weapons is fine. The real issue? Thing slipped in a bottle of sunscreen. “Suncream, seriously?” she deadpans, glaring at the disembodied hand. Peak Wednesday.
She returns to Nevermore Academy, where her gothic aura is instantly disrupted by her bubbly roommate Enid (Emma Myers), who is overjoyed to see her. As a warm (and very weird) welcome, Wednesday gifts Enid a giant porcelain doll — which is exactly as creepy as it sounds.
Her mother, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), is also back. “This is the first time you’ve ever willingly returned to a school," she says. Like returning to the scene of a crime,” Wednesday replies. “I already know where the bodies are buried.”
We’ve also got a star-studded cast joining the chaos:
Lady Gaga (yes, that Lady Gaga) will appear in a mysterious role
Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Noah Taylor, and others are coming on as series regulars
Christopher Lloyd (the original Uncle Fester from the 1991 film) is making a guest appearance
Other guest stars include Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Haley Joel Osment, Frances O’Connor, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.
Whether you’re in it for the fashion, the freaky friendships, or just Wednesday’s razor-sharp one-liners, Season 2 looks like it’s going to be killer.
