Oprah Winfrey comes to OSN
With shows including Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, TLC HD will be the sixth Discovery Network International channel on the network
Good news for TV lovers in the region: Oprah Winfrey is finally coming to OSN. TLC HD, a channel that features programming from OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network, is set to launch on March 24.
The new channel will include Oprah’s Next Chapter, which features in-depth interviews with high-profile celebrities. It will also air entertainment programming such as Brides of Beverly Hills, Ultimate Shopper, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Cake Boss and Breaking Amish.
“TLC HD will further complement our existing lifestyle channels bringing even more premium entertainment choices for viewers,” said David Butorac, OSN’s CEO, in a press release.
“It has always been our endeavour to bring OSN viewers the best content from across the world first, and we will continue to grow the unrivalled content we offer viewers with an unmatched television viewing experience.”
TLC HD will be the sixth Discovery Network International channel to become available through OSN. Others are Discovery Channel HD, Discovery Science HD, Animal Planet HD, Discovery World, and Investigation Discovery. TLC HD will focus on “weddings, fashion, food, family and alternate lifestyles”.
