Rogue One: A Star Wars Story sets the benchmark of how a good standalone film can be made without ruining a tight story with unnecessary sequels; compact, forceful, well-intentioned and hugely entertaining, the film is a story for the ages.

1. Director

Gareth Edwards is best known for his work on Godzilla in 2014 and Monsters in 2010. He has said,” Star Wars is definitely the reason that I wanted to be a film maker”.

2. Cast

3. Mission

The rebel mission led by Jyn Erso aims to find out how to destroy Death Star, the Empire’s main weapon, and finding Galen Erso, her kidnapped father.

4. Nostalgic value

While Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a stand-alone film, it has a lot of elements that connect it to the original movie and fans won’t be disappointed as the story has familiar characters and plot points.

5. Duration

2 hours and 13 minutes
