Comedy Central is coming to the UAE, and the rest of the Middle East, on May 7. Broadcaster OSN announced it is adding Comedy Central HD to its programming, and with it shows such as The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Comedy Central Presents… Inside Amy Schumer, Lip Sync Battle and the animated hit, South Park.

All shows will be subtitled in Arabic.

The Daily Show had been missing from OSN since Jon Stewart stepped down as host. The Emmy Award-winning show, now under South African comedian Noah, hosts a star-studded line-up of celebrities including actors, authors, singers and presidential hopefuls as guests.

Comedy Central favourites Tosh.0 and Inside Amy Schumer will also be part of the channel’s offering, with both long-running series to be aired from their first seasons starting in April.

The weekly Tosh.0 delves into all aspects of the social media landscape, featuring razor-sharp humour and biting commentary from comedian Daniel Tosh. The show, now in its 8th season, is an international hit and will air its 200th episode this summer.

Emmy Award-winning Inside Amy Schumer features the famous, edgy comedian performing a variety of hilarious sketches, stand up, interviews and musical performances.

The channel will also feature shows from another American cable network Spike, including YouTube viral sensation Lip Sync Battle, as well as the popular Catch a Contractor, an original non-scripted series that sees host Adam Carolla on a mission to track down shady, evasive contractors and drag them back to the scene of their crimes to face the music and fix the disasters they left behind.

Stand-up fans will have The Half Hour, featuring some of the exciting names in stand-up comedy today, while Nathan For You, a factual show that sees host Nathan Fielder going as far as it takes to make his business ideas come true.

Competition reality series Frankenfood follows New York executive chef and restaurateur Josh Capon as they discover new flavours, while Framework explores the world of furniture design and construction. Sweat Inc. is another reality competition series featuring 12 aspiring fitness entrepreneurs competing to prove that they have developed the next ground-breaking exercise programme.

All the shows premiering on Comedy Central HD will be available on OSN’s catch-up service, OSN Play, and via OSN on Demand.
