‘Arrested Development’ to get more episodes

It looks as if Arrested Development fans may be getting more of a good thing. Series executive producer Brian Grazer let slip that 17 more episodes of the comedy series are currently being developed.

Last month, Grazer was a guest on Bill Simmons’ podcast B.S. Report while the two were in Austin, Texas, for the SXSW Festival.

While talking about his various TV successes, including the current Fox hit Empire, Grazer said, “I love Arrested Development, but it was never a huge thing. But people are loyal to it and we’re going to do another 17 episodes.”

Unfortunately, Simmons failed to follow up on that tidbit.

In 2013, Netflix resurrected the long-cancelled Fox comedy for 15 new episodes. And while the return was heralded as a success and there were comments from various members of the cast and crew who seemed open to doing more, there have not been any definite answers.

But if Grazer says that 17 more episodes are being worked on, then he’s a person to know.

No word on when or where the fifth season will be happening, but chances are good they will be on Netflix, which has said it’s open to doing more.
