Antonio Banderas to star in Starz series ‘Cuban Quartet’
Actor will play a Cuban detective who always dreamed of being a writer
Starz is developing Cuban Quartet, a series starring Antonio Banderas.
Starz CEO Chris Albrecht made the announcement on Friday at a panel for television critics in Beverly Hills, California. The series is based on a popular book series by Leonardo Padura.
Banderas will play a Cuban detective who always dreamed of being a writer. He will also executive produce the series, which will get international distribution by EntertainmentOne.
Cuba is a hot commodity for Hollywood right now.
Discovery Channel recently premiered its series Cuban Chrome, Conan O’Brien shot recent episodes of his late-night talk show, Conan, in Cuba, and the American Heroes Channel will air a one-hour documentary on Fidel Castro.
