Dubai: Mohanlal’s gripping crime thriller Thudarum is proving to be a box office juggernaut, prompting a delay in its much-awaited OTT release.

Originally expected to stream after the typical four-week theatrical window, the film’s continued success has led the makers to push back its digital debut, according to a report by 123 Telugu. An official announcement on the new OTT release date is still awaited.

Directed by Tharun Moorthy, Thudarum released on April 25, 2025, and features Mohanlal in the lead, alongside Prakash Varma, Thomas Mathew, and Shobana.

The Malayalam-language film follows the story of Shanmugham, affectionately called ‘Benz’ after his cherished black Ambassador Mark 1 car. A former stunt assistant turned taxi driver, Benz finds his quiet life upended when his car becomes central to a police investigation in the tranquil town of Pathanamthitta.

Box Office Success
Thudarum has maintained a strong grip on the box office since its release 26 days ago.

As Thudarum continues to draw audiences to cinemas, fans may need to wait a little longer for its digital premiere — a rare feat in today’s streaming-driven landscape.
