Stormtroopers take over Abu Dhabi
White-clad miltary figures spotted in UAE capital
That galaxy far, far away came closer than ever on Tuesday afternoon with the arrival of a visiting delegation of Stormtroopers.
The six-strong team, representing the First Order, were sent in advance of Wednesday’s Abu Dhabi premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens — presumably to keep an eye on any rebel forces that may turn up at the event.
A far larger force of Stormtroopers, and droids, was seen at the Los Angeles premiere on Monday night.
The Stormtroopers met with Noura Al Kaabi, CEO of twofour54, and Mohammad Khalifa Al Mubarak, chair of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, at Emirates Palace
The Stormtroopers, from the UK and German garrisons of 501st Legion, will join UAE Stormtroopers at the second worldwide premiere of the film.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens releases in UAE cinemas on December 17.
