Food plays a major role in this upcoming film
In Malayalam, rasam means several things. It could be the soup that woos foodies with its strong aroma, or it could denote fun, as in Ithu Endhu Rasam Aana?
Malayalam director Rajeev Nath’s upcoming film Rasam is that and more. With the legendary Mohanlal in the lead and supported by veteran Nedumudi Venu and accomplished actor Indrajit, this is one rasam you ought to look out for.
“Food plays a central role in this story devoid of the conventional hero and heroine,” said Nath, who won his first Kerala State award at 23, (going down in history as the youngest filmmaker to do so) for his debut Thanal.
Nath also received a National award for best direction for another film of his, Janani, in 1998.
Venu plays a traditional Brahmin cook and Indrajit is his onscreen son. This is the first time a film has been shot in Doha. Some portions have been filmed in Dubai, too.
Rasam releases in Kerala on January 23.
