Malayalam actor Vishnu Prasad dies due to liver disease

Dubai: Popular Malayalam film and television actor Vishnu Prasad passed away late Thursday at a private hospital in Ernakulam, succumbing to complications from a prolonged liver illness.

According to media reports, Prasad had been hospitalised in critical condition for several days while doctors and his family prepared for a potential liver transplant. Despite intensive care, his health deteriorated, and he passed away Thursday night.

News of his passing was confirmed by actor Kishor Satya on social media:

Over a career spanning decades, Prasad appeared in notable Malayalam films such as Kashi, Kai Ethum Doorethu, Runway, Mambazhakaalam, Lion, Ben Johnson, Lokanathan IAS, Pathaka and Maratha Naadu. In recent years, he was also a familiar face on popular Malayalam television serials.

Survived by his family

He is survived by his two daughters, Abhirami and Ananika, who had stood by him throughout his illness. His sudden demise has sent shockwaves through the Malayalam entertainment fraternity and his many fans.
