In their weekly column, the Radio 2 morning birds preview the latest movies for tabloid!

Out this weekend:
TAKEN 3
Liam Neeson is still cashing pay cheques and putting his “certain set of skills” to work as ex-covert operative Bryan Mills in the third instalment of the Taken franchise. This time around, Mills is framed for the murder of his ex-wife, who he just got back together with. Can he steer clear of the CIA, FBI and the police long enough to clear his name, protect his daughter and get revenge? If I had to wager a guess, I’d say, yes. Don’t let the PG-13 rating scare you off. Taken 3 delivers plenty of action while Neeson exacts his unique brand of justice.
THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING
Golden boy Eddie Redmayne stars in this extraordinary story about renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking. Part biopic, part love story, this fact-based fairytale is based on his ex-wife Jane Hawking’s memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen. If the Golden Globes are any indication of Redmayne’s talent, he could be walking away with some Academy hardware next month.
Still showing:
SEVENTH SON
With legendary actor Jeff Bridges as your master (Master Gregory, to be specific) you should be able to do anything, right? Well Thomas Ward (Ben Barnes) has no choice but to accept the challenges that are coming his way as he is the Seventh Son… of a Seventh Son. The pressure is well and truly on. Based on the novel The Last Apprentice, this action, fantasy and fun film is doing very well at the UAE box office and now that it’s showing in 3D, that run will surely continue.
THE SNOW KING
Back in 2012, long before Frozen became what it is, we had another Ice Queen, called The Snow Queen. After a successful run at the box office, it’s time for Snow Queen 2 – The Snow King. This time the evil snow queen has cast a curse on her mirror. Will Gerda and co fix the curse? (Seriously, what do you think?) This Russian movie is just what the kids need if the Frozen DVD is starting to skip after too many views!
