Sky Force, an aerial action drama that blends historical events with high-octane thrills, has made a strong mark at the box office, crossing Rs1.4 billion in India net collections within two weeks, according to the numbers posted on Sacnilk website.

Starring Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya in primary roles, the film takes audiences back to one of India’s most daring air combat missions, showcasing the valor and determination of the country’s unsung heroes.

However, after an explosive opening weekend, Sky Force has reportedly begun to show signs of slowing down.

The film, which debuted with Rs120 million on its first day, witnessed impressive jumps over its first weekend, peaking at Rs280 million on Sunday. The momentum carried it past the Rs860 million mark in its first week.

A Mid-Week Slump in Collections

Despite its initial success, Sky Force experienced the familiar Monday drop, collecting Rs70 million, followed by a steady decline over the second week. By day 14, the film's collections dipped, signaling that its box office dominance may be nearing its end.

Much of Sky Force's initial pull came from its gripping narrative, which recreates the bravery of the Indian Air Force in a high-stakes mission that changed the course of history. Akshay Kumar, known for his patriotic and action-driven films, brought depth to his role, while the stunning aerial combat sequences and immersive VFX added to its appeal.

Directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapur, Sky Force captures the grit and heroism of air warriors, drawing comparisons to blockbuster war dramas.

However, as with most high-energy action films, its longevity at the box office has been tested. While its patriotic theme helped drive strong weekend numbers, the film's second-week collections struggled to keep up. While its total box office earnings remain commendable, the film’s steep drop in numbers suggests that its theatrical run in India is nearing its end. The movie did not release in the UAE cinemas.
