It took two years, but pop star Christina Aguilera sold her 10,000-square-foot gated mansion in Beverly Hills for $11.5 million (Dh42.2 million).

Set on nearly two-thirds of an acre, the Mediterranean-style home has a grand foyer with a sweeping staircase, a fanciful children’s room, a gym, a games room, a gift-wrapping area, a movie room, a beauty salon, six bedrooms and nine bathrooms. The master bedroom suite contains a lounge, a fireplace and dual bathrooms and closets. There is a guesthouse/recording studio. Outdoor entertaining areas include a pagoda and a swimming pool with a water slide and grotto spa.

The property was purchased from Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne in 2007 for $11.5 million, according to public records.

Aguilera sold to move to nearby Mulholland Estates, where she bought the home of Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores for $10 million.

Aguilera, 32, is among the world’s bestselling recording artists, with sales of more than 50 million records. The Grammy winner’s hits include Ain’t No Other Man, Beautiful and What a Girl Wants. She was a coach on the TV singing competition The Voice.
